Today’s post is a snapshot of my Instagram Saved folder. I save photos that I think would be cool to illustrate—a little eclectic—sometimes saved for the colors, sometimes the composition, or because it’s an artist I appreciate.
My version of a photo dump: Cool Kids, West Coast Edition. Hope you enjoy it :)
Michelle Zauner — frontwoman of indie-pop band Japanese Breakfast. She’s a songwriter and vocalist. She also wrote the bestselling memoir Crying in H Mart, which tackles heritage, love, and food.
A 29-page preview is available on google.
Christa B. Miller — comedy legend who I especially love in Apple TV+’s Shrinking. She plays the confident neighbor, supportive friend, and endearing mom—basically the glue holding everyone together. She also serves as the show’s music supervisor, featuring some terrific artists.
Jessica Nicastro — an interior designer whose work is stunning and cool. The illustration here is a detail shot from one of her spaces.

Jon Favreau — He gave us The Mandalorian, had a massive hand in shaping the Marvel Cinematic Universe, directed Elf (love that comedy and Will Ferrell), and also created and hosted the cooking series Chef. I drew his cat :)
Christian Alzmann — Concept Design Supervisor at Lucasfilm and the concept artist for The Mandalorian. He designed Baby Yoda into existence (okay, Grogu). He’s responsible for the looks of a universally adored creature.
